Discover just how fun Shakespeare can be as you bring one of Georgia Shakespeare’s professional Teaching Artists into your classroom to get your students out of their seats and onto their feet! Workshops may be custom designed to fit into your curriculum and the special needs of your classroom. Workshops start at $150 and are limited to 30 students.

Intro to Shakespeare
Our most popular workshop serves as an introduction to the life and times of William Shakespeare. Historical background, word games, Improvisation and scenes make this program a fun and lively introduction to the Bard.
Junior Shakespeare (Elementary)
Midsummer Madness
This workshop focuses on the characters of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Elementary students get to perform scenes involving “the rude mechanicals, featuring Peter Quince, Flute the Bellows Mender, and the incomparable Bottom! Students have fun while leaning the basics of the actor’s approach.
Creative Characterizations - Alice in Wonderland
What better way to ignite your students' imaginations than to let them step in someone else's shoes? Join the Will Power Ensemble as they recreate the magical world of the stage, and give your students the spotlight! Team-building and character exploration form the core of this dynamic workshop, which is sure to get your students' creativity flowing.
Intermediate Classics (Middle)
It’s All Greek to me!-Midsummer
Explore the Greek-themed play, Shakespeare’s comic masterpiece A Midsummer Night’s Dream and its source material, Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Participants will act out scenes from Midsummer including representatives from the play’s major character groups: the lovers, the fairies, the court, and, of course, the Rude Mechanicals. Students learn acting techniques while having fun under the guidance of a Will Power Professional.
It’s All Greek to Me! - The Myths
Shakespeare coined the phrase "It's all Greek to me," and based many of his stories on Greek myths and folklore, but this workshop focuses on the writings and myths of the Roman poet Ovid. Delve into Greek mythology and the myths of Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Students explore the myths of Persephone, Eurydice, Pyramus and Thisbe, and the beginnings of theatre. Scenes from the myths will be performed by the students incorporating improvisation and storytelling.
American Tall Tales! - Edgar Allan Poe
Students of all ages can delve into sound and syntax in this fascinating offering from the Will Power Ensemble. How do sound and meaning match up? Your students will participate in rapid-fire word storm, zany mad-libs, and the creation of a fully-fledged theatrical soundscape as we explore the avenues between page and stage. Using the vocabulary and stories of Edgar Allan Poe, this workshop helps students better understand the value of language in great story telling.
Senior Shakespeare (High School)
Romeo and Juliet
This workshop focuses on Shakespeare’s tragedy of the star- crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. The plays themes are explored as well as background information and performance history. Students will also perform scenes from the play and learn stage combat techniques as representatives of either the Montague family or of the Capulet family.
Macbeth
This workshop provides historical and thematic information on Shakespeare’s tragic hero, Macbeth. Students will also participate in stage combat utilizing the always popular “air broadswords.” In addition, students will gain a further appreciation and insight into the leading character’s motivations through text analysis and scene-work.
